DESIGN OF CONVEX AND CONCAVE DUAL BENT ARRAY FOR 5G LENS ANTENNA SYSTEM

Previous research on the multi-beam system for fifth generation (5G) application has shown that number of feed elements a lens antenna at mobile base station is increasing due to massive MIMO requirements. The design array circuits 5G systems will be more complicated feeding structure, which consists power dividers and phase shifters, thus contributing higher losses. fabrication process also becomes complicated. Besides that, conventional produces single radiation beam only. Thus, large space needed, where antennas should arranged perform wide-angle scanning operation. Therefore, overcome these issues, this paper uses bent configuration as produce bifurcated wide angle from radiator edge. Multiple arrays are axis generate by cylindrical antenna. This shows comparison in convex concave configurations. investigates mutual coupling when than one radiators. By comparing structures, it observed structure better-bifurcated with smaller middle lobe. same shifting angle, θs both ports, s = 4λ used. It verified optimum spacing value between two structures optimization process.
